FIRST BALKAN MINERAL PROCESSING CONFERENCE
The First Balkan Mineral Processing Conference was held in Varna, Bulgaria, from November 12 to 15, 1973. The participants were experts in mineral processing from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Turkey, and Serbia. The conference was organized by Prof. Dr. Kiriak Kovachev.
The proceedings of the first BMPC were published in Russian, French, or Englishโthese being the official languages of the conference, along with the language of the host country. A total of 170 participants attended the event. During the final session, the Balkan Scientific Committee for Mineral Processing Conferences was established. In its initial meetings, the Committee agreed to hold the Balkan Mineral Processing Conference every three years in a different Balkan country.
