SEVENTH BALKAN MINERAL PROCESSING CONFERENCE
The Seventh Balkan Mineral Processing Conference (BMPC) was organized under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Paraschiv Ilie and took place at the Vatra Dornei resort, Romania, from May 26 to 30, 1997.
As with previous BMPC events, the Vatra Dornei conference attracted interest not only from Balkan countries but also from experts in Australia, the Czech Republic, China, Germany, and Italy.
A total of 135 papers were presented, covering a wide range of topics in mineral processing. All papers were published in two volumes, the majority of them in English. The distribution of topics included 23% on flotation, 26% on non-conventional and bacterial technologies, and 18% on environmental issues.
The program also featured a technical excursion to the Tarnita dressing plant, which processes copper-zinc ores, along with visits to several renowned monasteries, sponsored by the United Nations.
