THIRD BALKAN MINERAL PROCESSING CONFERENCE
The Third Balkan Mineral Processing Conference (BMPC) was originally scheduled for April 22โ26, 1980, but was temporarily canceled due to the death of Yugoslav President Josip Broz Tito. The rescheduled conference took place in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, at the modern Sava Centar complex, from June 18โ19, 1980. The chairman of the third BMPC was Prof. Dr. Duลกan Salatiฤ.
Rescheduling the conference from April to June led to the withdrawal of many authors who had prior commitments during that time. As a result, only 14 of the 40 selected papers were presented.
The official languages of the conference were English, French, Russian, and Serbian, with simultaneous translation provided. A total of 125 participants attended the event, including delegations from Bulgaria (2), Romania (6), Turkey (2), and Serbia (115).
Following the conference, a technical excursion was organized to visit the open-pit and flotation plant at the Majdanpek Copper Mine.
