SEVENTEENTH BALKAN MINERAL PROCESSING CONFERENCE

The 17th Balkan Mineral Processing Congress (BMPC 2017) was organized by the Department of Mineral Processing Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (led by Prof. Dr. Fatma Arslan and Prof. Dr. Ayhan Ali Sirkeci) in collaboration with the Turkish Mining Development Foundation (YMGV, represented by Prof. Dr. Gรผven ร–nal). The congress was held from November 1 to 3, 2017, at the Concorde De Luxe Resort in Antalya, Turkey.

BMPC 2017 brought together numerous senior officials from Turkey and abroad, along with representatives from companies operating in the mining and mineral processing sectors. The event served as a valuable platform for discussing the future of the industry and promoting a safe and sustainable path forward for the mining and mineral processing sectors in the Balkan region.

The congress addressed a wide range of key topics, including mining operations (open-pit, underground, and in-situ), mineral processing, material analysis and characterization, comminution and classification, coal processing, industrial minerals processing, physical concentration methods, as well as dewatering and wastewater treatment.

A total of 148 participants from Turkey and other countries attended the event, including six invited speakers. In total, 99 papers were submittedโ€”43 were presented orally, and 50 were presented as posters.
